The newest thing in the city

Ciudad del Río is a former industrial block that has been rebuilt, more or less from scratch, into a cluster of towers around the Museo de Arte Moderno. It is the most concentrated stock of genuinely new construction in Medellín, and it sits on the flat.

That combination — new buildings, modern layouts, current amenity standards, without the climb — doesn't exist anywhere else in the valley at this density. It is also central in a way Poblado is not: the metro is close, and the river corridor puts you within reach of both ends of the city.

Who this actually suits

The honest downside

The regeneration is not finished. Walk a few blocks in the wrong direction and you're back in the industrial city the towers were built out of. That's improving, but the neighbourhood boundaries here are sharp and you should walk them yourself, in the evening, before committing.
